WAIMAKARIRI RIVER TRUST.
♦ A conference of -.representatives of local bodies interested, in the Waimakariri R'.ver Trust was held at the ltangiora County Council office on Tuesday afternoon. Mr F. Horrell, who represented the Rangiora Council, presided, ar.<l other delegates preBent were: Messrs J. 11. Blacky/ell iMaycr), J. Barnard and H. Mcintosh. (Kaispoi Borough), F. G. Horrell and H. E. Evtiu (Eyre County), J. Brown and J. Waller (Wai-makarlri-ABhley Water Supply Board). The Oxford County vras not represented. Several interested ratepayers were also present. The main object of the conference was tile selection of two- persons to reccinmeod the ratepayers for election, to the Eiver Trust to represent tha amakamatad local boiliea. After soiuo discussion oa'or the provisions of tho River Trust Act, Messrs F. G-. Horrell' and R. 0. Dixon were selected as the cand>jatM for election to the Trust. On account of Ifr Dixon's absence in the North Icland, Mr James Ri'jh was chosen a: an emerge-no/ candidate. *
