DARING WOMEN RIDERS
AT WILD WEST CARNIVAL. It requires more than usual pluck for women to ride a wild bullock, but such exhibitions of nerve will be witnessed at tho Wild West Carnival of the Canterbury A. and P. Association at the Addington Show Grounds on Saturday. In addition to that, hair-raising bucit-jlimping stunts wi:l be given by intrepid stockmen on wild outlaw .noises and wild buLoats. Arrangements have now been* completed for tho holding of the. big Rugby clasn between the Marists and Loiuvood teams. These two combinations fought out senior supremacy last winter and Lue form shown indicates that they will be engaged in a like struggle again this year. Botii teams are very evenly matched ■ and Saturday's game will give followers of lootball a very" good indication oi what the ultimate result of the senior championship of tho Canterbury Rugby Union will be. The. final arrangements are also being completed for the great slock JTrive, and this will no doubt be the leading entertainment for many thousands of the public, particularly those from the country districts.
In addition to the above there will be a wealth of other aftraciions, the„whole forming a grand and varied conglomeration of amusement from morning t.l! dark.' There will be special re'reshment and luncheon booths on the grounds, and special tram services and fpecial railway excursion fares. , , .
