a Cot for a ras* ■'"" ! i m rmm to accept the responsibility for the perverted minds that develop from neglected -an J surely that responsibility must rest on the shoulders of everybody who withholds assistance from our orphanages* IF civilisation counts for anything, it at least imposes on us the duty of charity to destitute children. Of all our charities, the Orphanages must ever be foremost. Right through life, care for the young is ever dominant, and this call for assistance to build more buildings in order that St. Saviour's Orphanages may extend food, raiment, shelter and loving care to parentless and deserted children is an appeal to everybody in Canterbury—an appeal on behalf of the Dominion's most noble charity. ~ 1 ss m i f i m wm Cases of neglected childhood like this are common enough overseas. That we do not see them in this country is due to the activities of our Orphanages. And so long as the activities of St. Saviour's are not cramped for want of funds, they will never be seen here. Right now is the time to show your appreciation of the noble and charitable work being done by St. Saviour's Orphanages by a generous subscription to the fund which will provide the extra buildings so urgently needed to house the children who are awaiting admission. The present buildings of St. Saviour's are overflowlift ing, and if the work of these Orphanages is to extend and keep pace with the growth of the province, at least £IO,OOO must be immediately subscribed. Neither sex nor religion debars any child from admission to St. Saviour's—only lack of accommodation, and YOU can help to remedy that. ive No more deserving charity ever appealed to you for Funds ■ a Collector Your Donation atThe TENT on the CATHEDRAL GROUNDS in the SQUARE Bank of Australasia "Sun" "Press" or "Times" Office Jones, McCrostie & Co., Ltd.
