"3UBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Christchurch City Council held in the City Council Cha: ber, Oxford terrace, Christchurch, at o'clock p.m. on Monday, the 26th day o£ March, 1923, a resolution was adopted tP take a By-law which may be cited as ' J-'he Christchurch By-law No. 10." The following is the proposed By-law:— • In pursuance of the powers and. authorities vested in them by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920," and each -and every other power and authority thereunto m that behalf enabling them, the Christchurch City Council, acting on behalf of the Mayor, Councillors and Citizens of the City ot Christchurch, make and or3ain this By-law. (1) The short title of this By-law ehail be "The Chfistchurch By-law I«o. 10. (2) Section 554 of The Christchurch Bylaw No. 1" is hereby repealed and the following is substituted therefor: Meters may be fixed by the Council at tho expense of the consumer # either within or outside of the premises ot the consumer, and shall (if on the premises of the consumer) be protected by the consumer in a manner to be approved bv the Council. For eacfl meter supplied bv the Council there shall be paid to the Council such annual chanre not exceeding 10s per meter as the Council may by- resolution, from time to time determine. Ihe Council reserves the right to fix its own loclc upon any meter. This By-law shall come into force on the l«t dav of Mav, 1923. And it is hereby further publicly notified that the foregoing resolution will he submitted to an ordinary meeting of the Christchurch City Council, to be held in the City Council Chamber, situate in Oxford terrace, Christchurch, at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, the 23rd day of April, 1923, for confirmation as a Special 'Order, and that a copy of the said proposed By-law is deposited at the oSce of the Christchurch City Council, situate in Oxford terrace, Christchurch, and is open for inspection by the public during office hours.
