Mr Allen Doone found it out long ago in America and since his last visit to New Zealand he has been finding out that no matter where ho travels over the world there is always a - warm welcome for these clean sweet plays of healthy sentiment which reflect Irhih charactev and morality so faithfully. Mr Doone recently made a contract to appear in South Africa for a season of of twelve weeks, but such was the popularity of his plays that the season stretched out to 105 weeks—two years. One of the •most successful plays of hi 3 extensive Tepertoire is Theo. Burt Sayre's play, ••Lucky O'Shea," in which the star actor sustains tie dual role of an officer in Napoleon's army, and a fashionable actor in Dublin, one which it is needless to say he traces, to the last letter. A specially- sele ted company will support Mr Deono and Mr. Edna Keeley during their season, which opens in the Theatre- Royal on Saturday night. The box plans are at the Bristol.
