The Wellington City Tramways produced a net surplus of £19,044 during the year ended March 31st, which, while £3363 less than the previous year's credit, discloses a satisfactory position. The figures for 1922-23, compared with the previous year, are as follow: — 1922-23. 1921-22. Revenue per car mile 28V51d 28.79 d Working expenses per car mile ... 21.86 d 22.60 d Passengers car- v ried 37,465,109- 37.127,814 Car miles run ... 3,265,417 3,223,473 The power supply showed a of £8542 on a revenue of £42,127, derived from the sale of 3,765,959 nnit.vof electric light. The surplus amounted to £12,830 on revenue, £134,326 from the sale of 7,685,318 units. In {lie case of both light and power units sold Inst year these were 50,000 more than the previous year.
