SCOTTISH SOCIETY.
The Soottish Society's monthly Ceilidh was held on Thursday and to presided over by Chief John. L. Aitken, supported by his chieftain. A large audience was present. Pipe Major J. Patterson opened with a selection on the Highland pipes. The chief, in his opening remarks, extended a cordial welcome to those present, and that the programme ol the evening wou.d be .filled by . the juveniles. Special reference was made to the interest the members were taking in the furthering of the well-being of the Sooiety. Three new members were elected and seven proj>osed for membership. Musical and other items were rendered during the evening. Songs by the Misses Edna Pearae, Lottie Colvilie, Majy Aitcceson and (Mr Watterston, duets by tiie Missai Pearse, Joan -and Nora Smith, piano 80103 Misses Yensie McCiatchy, Miss Giikinaon and Master Cogle, recitations by the Misses Lorna Aitcheson, Nancy Chisholm and Master Pearce. Miss Edith Inkier piayed a selection on the Highland pipes, formin" a novel feature in the programme. Dances: Fling, Miss Joan Craig; Seaunn Triubhais' Master T.
