IN AID OF SUMNER CLUBS.
A Bpecial effort was made yesterdtij to raise funds for two Sumner clubs, uH Ladies' Miniature Rifle Club and j||fl Sumner Rowing Club. The club, some months ago, lost all it* f|j9 in a fire, and the latter, since itfl«| juvenation, has badly needed new :gj|9 Preparations were matte on a s§|H large goale for the funotion. A "(*|bß marquee was erected near the ?Ntfß| cakes and sweets; the band rotmnH was suitably equipped for a num WfMH competitions; a triple chute ball game was erected; and: ■ftMH gramme of aquatic sporta arranfWffiaHß latter, however, had to be abnnq&ilßl as, owing to the exceptionally, OWMM sea, it was impossible to' set tafrl|j||l round.
