Cadmati for the light heavyweight championship of New Zealand and a purse of £2OO was won by the former, Cadman throwing s in the towel, in the seventh round. The Oamaru Seat, Mr J. A. Mocpherson denies that he has been approached to stand down for the Oamaru seat in favour of Sir Joseph "Ward. N.Z. Lanour Psirty. The annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party was opened in Chriatchurch yesterday. University Tournament. At the New Zealand University tournament, the athlctio shield waa won by Otago, Canterbury being runners-up. FOREIGN.
France and Germany. The Paris "Figaro" prints another attack on Britain, who is said to have secured the lion's share from the war, and to have devoted all her efforts to prevent France settling heir affairs with Germany. Turkish Peace Terms. The Allied :reply to the Turkish counter-proposals regarding the peace terms suggests a prompt resumption of negotiations, and makes certain suggestions relative to the capitulations and the economic clauses. Kelease of Zagnloul Pasha. The Foreign Office has ordered the release of Zaghloul Pasha, leader of the Egyptian Nationalists, from Gibraltar. Soviet and the Church. It is stated that the death sentence on Archbishop Zepliak was commuted, lest Catholics should regard the penalties as directed against priests and religion. It is alleged that Father Budkevitch participated ia counter-revolutionary plots. Lenin Dying. It is reported that Lenin is already "mentally dead." His right side is completely paralysed. Bulgaria and the War. * The trial of ■ the ex-Ministers who were charged with treason by involving Bulgaria in the war with- ' out Parliament's consent, and with stealing public money, ended in their being sentenced to long terms of imprisonment. Irian Affairs. Northern Ireland's first financial year ended with a surplus of £70,000. The Free State is faced with a deficit of £20,000,000. Labour In Britain. A widespread industrial struggle, due to decreased wages and unemployment, is threatened in Britain. Thousands of agricultural labourers are on strike, and the Ehondda miners have ordered a strike involving 46,000 men. \
