LE BON'S BAY ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Le Bon's Bay Road Board was attended by Messrs W. G. Dalglish (chairman), Geo: Mould, H. F. Elliott, J. H. Mcintosh, and A. A. Macphail. Correspondence was lead from the Bank of New Zealand, Akaroif, uskiug for payment before March 31st of the amount of antecedent liability for the current year. The clerk that the amount was £2O, for which ha had drawn a cheque. The county clerk, in the matter of payment of mail contract subsidies, stated that under the Public Revenues Act, 1908, certain payments were provided for. The resident engineer wrote stating that the Minister of Public Works had been oommunicated with over the damage done to roads and bridges by the January floods, but no rsplv had as yet been received. Three bridges had been swept away, and a fourth damaged, but temporary crossings had been made for traffic. It was considered that over £IOOO would be required to reconstruct the bridges. The bridge at McKay's was considered uufit.ior heavy traffic, and it was agreed to post up notices to that effect. Mr Partington asked for and was granted permission to take a quantity of metal from the jetty roadside. The resignation of the clerk was road, and accepted with great regret. The chairman said the clerk had done his work well for the past twelve years. He considered they could not wish to work with a better man. and he was sure that all the ratepayers were pleased with his efforts on their behalf. Mr A. A. Macphail, in seconding the motion, heartily endorsed the chairman's remarks. In reply, Mr Bruer thanked the Board for their kind appreciation of his. work. Ke had succeeded a firstclass clerk. Mr Fredericksen, who had been only too willing to assist him, and his success in dealing with- the Board's affairs was due in a very great measure to this. Mr- Dalglish moved, and it was carried, that the position be offered to Mr C Sredericksea.
