BLACKBALL MINE.

(special to "the mess.") GEEYMOUTH, March 6. The Blackball mine will probably be unsealed during the week, a& it is believed that the iiro can now be confined to a much smaller area; in fact, it may be possible for it to be confined to the old workings. If this is so, it will be a good thing for Blackball, as a large proportion of tho population left to seek other employment after the disastrous fire a few months ago, which necessitated the closing up of the greater portion, of the mine.
