Jersey City, London, March 21st Port Adelaide, London, March 22nd. SHIPPING NOTES. The Government steamer Tutanekai called at Lyttelton yesterday on her perio<uca,l round Of the southern lighthouses. She remained in port overnight owing to being unable to work Godley Head, and will probably sail to-day. The Oygnet is to load here to-day for Kaikoura, Motueka md Kelson.

Tho John loads here to-day for Wellington, Wanganui and .New .Plymouth. The Orepuki is' due here on i'riday from Akaroa, and is to sail the same day for Greymouth.

The Ho.mdale is to leave here thia morning for Oamaru andi Wanganui. The Wakatu is expected here to-morrow nijht from Kaikoura and Wellington, and is to sail on Friday on the return trip. _ i The Wingaiui is due here this morning from Wellington to discharge Auckland cargo. She is to sail for Dunedin to-night. Mr G. Robinson has joined the Tutanekai as wireless operator, vice Mt H. Meehan. The Kaikoura, at present discharging Liverpool cargo at Dunedin, is to proceed to Bluff to complete discharge. The vessel is later to load for the United Kingdom to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The Shaw Savill and Albion Company advise that the Waimana will load general cargo in New Zealand from the middle ol April for New York and Boston and will sail finally about May 9th from Wellington. The Peshawur which left Lyttelton on Monday for Dunedin and Bluff to complete discharge of Liverpool cargo, later loads at Lyttelton, Bluff, Dunedin, Napier, on Q Wellington for Homo ports. The vessel is due at Wellington on April 4th, and is to sail on April Bth for New York, Boston, Avonmouth, Manchester, Liverpool, and Glasgow. The Trekieve is due heTe Thursday from Wellington to discharge cargo from St. John and New York. She will also discharge at Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's steamer Mahana sailed from Gisborne on Saturday evening for Auckland to continue loading. ' She is due at Wellington on Friday from Auckland, and will leave there on March Mth for London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe.

According to a cable message received by t&e Huddart-Parker Company, the Ulimaroa. left Sydney at Noon on Saturday for Wellington, lie vessel, which ie bringing 170 passengers and 500 tons of general cargo, may be expected to arrive at Wellington today, and is scheduled to sail on the return voyage on Friday. The Corinthic arrived at Wellington yesterday evening l from Southampton. Sho was delayed when nearing the coast by a north-westerly gale with heavy seas. VESSELS WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE OF N.Z. PORT CAROLINE, FROM LONDON

After a smart passage of 87 days from Loudon, the Commonwealth and Dominion liner Port Caroline arrived in the stream at 9.45 a.m. yesterday, and on pratique being granted, berthed shortly before noon. The Port Caroline left London on January 27th and struck a week's heavy weather crossing the Atlantic. Panama Canal was cleared on February 12th and this run across the Pacific was made in perfect weather. On Uriday last the stoalmer encountered ft strong south-easterly gale Which continued until Monday. The. Port Caroline brought the following passengers:—Dr. Whitten, Mrs Whitten and Misses Whitten (2), Mr and Mis F. C. Poolman and Miss Poolman, Mr C. G. Smith, Col. Graham.

Captain Benaut has command of the Port Caroline, and he has with him the following officers:—Chief Mr It. Needham; second, Mr E. <J. Fulliok; third, Mr L. Linklater; fourth, Mr P. Pedrici. Chief engineer, Mr O. Griffith; chief steward, Mr E. U. Barbour. The vessel also carries ftour cadets. She has 1900 tons of oargo for discharge at Lyttelton, including transhipment for the North Island. From, here she goes to Dunedin to complete discharge, and will then load at Bluff, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington, and is to sail early in April for London via Monte Video.
