At a swimming carnival held here toi night, Enwxight (Auckland),. «eiw Zealand i 00yds champion, made an unauooeaaiul at- ' tempt to lower the record for the distance of 60 seconds. He swam a good race but not straight over the second lap. He covered the distanoe in. 60 8-ssecs. Euwright led Adamson, winner of the race,, by a yard at the last, turn, but the winner swam a great finfaTi and won on the touch.
