SUGGESTED INTERCHANGE OP DETECTIVES. (BY CABLE—PiESS. ASSOCIATIOX —COPTRIOHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLS ASSOCIATION.) SYDNEY, January 5. Tho "Daily Telegraph," dealing with tho influx of criminals and tho uoed for an exchange of detectives, says tho attempts to establish a scheme for interchange of detectives between New South Wales and New Zealand failed owing to lack of interest. displayed by the Dominion authorities. Arguing the value of such an exchange, the "Telegraph" states:"New South Wales recently suffered an epidemic of safe blowing, there being 16 cases in a few months, and when the offenders were caught they proved to be New Zealand criminals. Had New Zealand had detectives serving here as the other Stateß have, tho epidemic might have been effectively handled.
