They were welcomed by the British Consul-Gen-eral and the Assistant-Secretary of the United States Treasury. Mr Stanley Baldwin, Chancellor of the Exchequer, declared:—"lf we can come to an agreement, it will be a quick one." The return passage has been booked for January- 20th. The party left immediately for Washington. [The British Mission includes Mr Stanley Baldwin, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Mr Montagu C. Norman, Governor of the Bank of England, and several experts. Their task is to negotiate with the United States Debt Funding Commission an agreement for the funding of Britain's debt to America.]
