GETTING NEXT TO NATURE
OR THE CHARM OF GOVERNOR'S BAY. For generations past, Christchurch visitors to Governor's Bay have longed to secure a small holding there with a vie\V to erecting a week-end home. This has been denied them uctiP now, when through the enterprise of the Zephyr Hills Estate, a limited number of iy sections is being thrown open for subdivision. The city' dweller naturally longs to get away from, the bricks and mortar and the clang of the car bells. In Taylor's Mistake many have burrowed like rabbits into the hillside in pursuance of this ideal, while others have secured holdings further afield in Diamond Harbour. But of the week-end resorts near Christchurch, none can offer the attractions possessed by Governor's Bay, such as charming 6cenery with touches of natural bush, l>athing, boating, fishing, and shooting, while gentle zephyrs, spice "laden, warm, and health-giving are wafted across ihe broad bosom of the rolling ocean from the sun-kissed isles of the South Pacific, and come to rest in this luvefy bay. its accessibility too, with the motorbus from Lyttelton or little over one hour's walk from the Hills car terminus renders it par-excellence, the ideal resort for the week-ender. The terms asked for Zephyr Hills lots are exceptionally easy, too, viz: from £lO down and 2 per cent, a month providing a money-saving investment that will pay better than average dividends. Sections vary from about 30 perches to about acres. . Readers who are interested should secure a plan at oDce, from thg S o!e asrent, Ronald S. Badger, 187 Manchester street. —5
