The judge to-day made it clear that the hope of a commutation of the capital sentences which he expressed yesterday in. sentencing the Brakpan. murderers applied to five, not three, of the accused. There are still eleven men awaiting trial in connexion with the same affair. [A previous message said: The trial has ended at Joiianensburg ci Garnsworthy, a well-known miner, and seven others, who are charged with murder in connexion with the attack on the Brakpan mine during the revolution, when a number of defenders of the mine were killed. All the accused were sentenced to death. Three were virtually recommended to mercy.]
