SOUTH AFRICAN BISHOPS' PRONOUNCEMENT. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) OAPE TOWN, December 7. The bishops of the Anglican Church of South Africa have issued a pronouncement on the subject of Sunday observance, in which they insist on the primary importance of public worship; but thej see no harm in recreations which conflict neither with public worship nor rest and refreshment, which the community and the individual alike require. The bishops deprecate, however, the extent to which organised public sports, picnics and excursions are robbing the people of the atmosphere of quiet which should obtain.
