Personal Items.
Mr J. S. C. Thomas, of the Union Bank, Christchurch, has been transferred to the Geraldino branch as accoun-tant-teller. Mr F. V. Blandford, for some years publicity manager for New Zealand Picture Supplies, Ltd., has been appointed manager of the Palace Theatre, Molbourne, and assistant publicity manager for Fullers and Ward, Melbourne. Mr .T. E. Crocker (postmaster at Ashburton. and late of the inspector's staff), and Mr A. W. P. Hewitt (postmaster at Hawera) have retired, after 40 years' service in the Postal Department. Mr Brian G. Thompson, who was educated at King's College, Auckland, and afterwards at the Medical School of the Otago University, has passed the final section of Bachelor of Medicine at the Edinburgh University. Mr Thompson served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Forcos during the war as a member of the N.Z.M.C., and on his discharge proceeded to Edinburgh, where he joined the university to complete his medical studies. He is the eldest son of Mr J. B. Thompson, Under- ; Secretary of Lands, and previously ! chief drainage engineer of tho Lands j and Survey Department. i
