He considered that, if it was decided to continue the competitions in the meantime there. 1 was quite a possibility of having to abandon the matches later on owing to the number of visitors coming to Christehurch and the -number of players who would be away at the Auckland tournament Mr Ihi Feu aaid he would be sorry if it was true that the pennant competitions had been carried on- in a half-hearted manner. In his opinion most of the clubs were most enthusiastic in the matter. > Mf Healey said he was in aj difficult position as he had no instructions from his club. „ , ■ Mr Blackwell: Neither have I. Mr Du Feu: Vote according to your own convictions. . ~ , _•» ' "That'n what I intend td do, replied Mr Healey. H« said that to his Blind the proposal was all piffle. The rank irnd file ought to be <?onsidcr«d as well as the bowlers who wanted to take part in tournaments. It was a silly proposal, and he would -vote stated that he was not going to vote although he was ppersonally opposed to the pennant competitions being carried 01 The amendment was defeated, only three delegates voting for it. . ! , The motion was amended to read: That tb® letter be reoeived and that the matter of continuing the pennant competitions be left in the hands of the Competitions Committee," and in that form it was earned adjourned until next- Monday. •. edgewabe clitb. . i-iirtio-'ntr arc. the results; of the first I fn the'Edgeware Club's competitions: K&i'M.
