The above figures were taken from the N.Z. Official Year Book, 1921-22. t Duties on liquor at present rates will provide two and a half million pounds per annum—sufficient to pay the co£t of all the above national services. If Prohibition comes, where are we to look for this money ? More taxation on necessities, of course. Can you afford to pay more for the everyday needs of daily life? A lot more; if the taxation goes on to tea, that commodity will co£t you Bs. 6d. per lb.; if on to sugar, that will co£t lOd. per lb. ? This taxation is at present only paid by those who can afford it. It is a Voluntary Contribution Any revision of the tariff would press more heavily on the workers. VOTE CONTINUANCE
