BIG CROWDS ON SATURDAY. The Dominion Industrial Exhibition r-roved a popular centre of attraction on Saturday, the attendance in the evening being espee-ahy big. The coloured water display at the bridge was in full working order, a head of steam heme on during the evening, which added to&siderably to the effectiveness of the spectacle. During this week a "Kail of Illusions" will be opened at whTch will be witnessed a number of items from the London Coiliseuni not previously seen in the Dominion.

Arrangements are being made for a display of election return:; on Thursday night." On a board cn the stage the returns from the different electorates will be posted as they are received; returns will also be shown on a screen. On Election Night the Exhibition will be open till midnight. Preparations are actively in hand for a Children's Night on a big scale on iJhristmas Eve. There will be a huge ■Christmas tree in the middle of the building, and the stal-s will be specially decorated for the occasion. The idea is to make it a real carnival night. A band will play music appropriate to the season and there will be carol singing. This Week's Programme.

This evening the music will be supplied by Miss -Macdonald's orchestra, und her dancing pupils will provide an •.ntertainment.

To-morrow night the programme Trill be supplied by Miss Macdoi'.a.d s orchestra and .Miss Lynns Edwards's dancing pupils. On Wednesay night special interest will centre round the concert to be given by the kaiapoi Male Voice Choir. Miss Macdcnald's orchestra will play. __On Thursday (election ' night) the i'v'oolston Band will play. On Friday Derry's Band and a concert arranged bv Mr £. Dalton and Miss C. Bell. Saturday night—Tramway Band and Miss Cox's pupils. The Industries' films will be shown laily, and there will be radio concerts during the week. Visits from Schools. This week scholars attending the fol.owing schools will visit the Exhibition : To-day: West Christchurch Primary •ind Normal (morning;); Addington. and Pananui (evening). To-morrow: Waltham. and St. Albans i morning); Phillipstown and Richmond evening). Wednesday: Opawa, Spreydon, Cashnere, Aranui, • Wharenui (morning); ■ihirtey and Linwood (evening). Thursday: Cheviot (morning). Friday: New Brighton, Burwood, jndalton, and Hareivood (morning). Officials' Badges. Visitors to the Exhibition will End he following list of badges worn by )fficia!s of value President (Mr W J. Jenkin), red; treasurer (Mr W. W. Charters), green; secretary (Mr Denys Hoare), red, white and blue: supervisor (Mr T. W. Woodroffe), yellow. The Attendance. The total attendance on Saturday will irove, probably, to be one of the biggest recorded. Excluding season ticket holders, exhibitors, and attendants, 2136 admissions were recorded between 10.30 i.m. and 5 p.m. In the evening it was estimated that there was close on 5000 people in the building.

REFRESHMENTS AT EXHIBITION. Morning tea, beef tea, luncheon, afternoon tea: strawberries and cream ice creams, soft and sweets may had at the Exhibition Tea-rooms. Orchestra in attendance. 6
