* PROBLEM OF /EGEAN ISLANDS. PROPOSED DEMILTTABISATION. (By Cable—Piew Aatociation—Oopjrripht.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LAUSANNE, November 80. The Territorial and Military Commission sub-committee's report recommended the demilitarisation of Mitylene, Chios, Samos, and Nicaria, only the. Turks dissentiug. The Commission holding that this was insufficient, the sub-committee is now considering the complete demilitarisation of Lemnos, Tenedos, and Samothrace, under control of the Powers. The Russians are awaiting Moscow's reply to the Allied Note in refusing to admit Russia to the Conference for the whole of its work. Owing to the sub-committee's refusal to accept the Turkish view regarding sovereignty over the Aogean Islands, the Turks declared 'that they could only remain on the sub-committeo as observers. The Soviet Government, replying to the Allies' refusal to admit the Russian delegates to all the sittings of the Conference says the ruling will render void all decisions made in the Russians' absence, and asks for a postponement of the discussion of the Straits quostiou till Monday.
TROUBLE IN WESTERN THRACE. CONSTANTINOPLE, November 30. The Turkish insurgents defeated the Greeks in tho Tehinasarakoui and Dedeagateh districts, and also routed the garrison at Cumuldjina, capturing a large quantity of munitions. It is reported that the insurgents -have established a provisional government.
