CHRISTCHURCH NORTH.

TO THI EDITOR 01' "TIIE TRESS."

Sir, —It is customary in anonymous correspondence that the uom-de-plume would have some bearing on the subject matter discussed. "Anti-Bolsho-vik" in your issue of 2otU denies any intention oi "insinuating that Mr Andrews is minting in patriotism"; hence tho nom-dc-plume, while formidable in name, is absolutely iiK';mingkvs.s. "Anti-Bolshevik" denies friendship for and admits only slight jicquttintanoo ot Mr Isitt, but, from afar, continues to praise (nothitio; fulsome) for some undefined meritorious act on Mr Isitt's part during our time of stress ("politics do not mutter") and tho only adequate reward would 1m for tho "lie form" voters to join tho "Liberals" in re-electing Mr leitfc to represent Christclnirch North. However, thousands of Christ church North electors liavo an id<\i that they should be represented by a straight-out supporter ot' the Reform Government. "Anti-Bolshevik," having denied insinuations, proceeds to make definite charges against Mr Andrews for allegedly not coming to the fore in some meritorious way when wanted, and that "he ia now coming forward when he is not wanted." Mr Andrews's record as a. city councillor and a member of the liducation Beard is too well known to require repeating, and «is to not being now wanted. L would point out, m a final spadeful clapped on the grave of this, "Anti-Bokhevik's," calumny, that over one thousand Reform electors signed a petition to Mr Andrews, pledging their support in Asking him to stand as a candidate to represent the Reform interests in Christchurclv North. If every electorate in the Dominion would successfully do what "Anti-Bol-shevik" suggests, viz., for the "Reform" electors tr> join the "Liberals" in electing the Liberal oandidate, there would not be a, single Reform candidate elected, not even in the Riccarton electorate, where conditions similar to Christchurch North prevail. Enough said. —Yours, etc., - LOYALIST. Merivale, November 27 th.
