NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The Canterbury Horticultural Society's Rose Show will be held in the Art Gallery on Friday. A lecture will bo given in the evening by Mr J, Poulaen, roee expart. A presentation will be made to Dr. Connor, in Mr Evaus' grain shed, YVaikari, on Friday evening at 8.30. Derry's Privnto Bund will give a conoert on the Sumner Band Rotunda on Sunday afternoon, in aid of the Rannerdale Soldiers' Holiday Fund. \ The Rangi-Ruru Sports will be held at English Park on Friday. Alterations in the Lyttelton and North line railway time-tables, to take effect from December 3rd, ore advertised to-day. The Canterbury public schools' children's annual athletic car rival and massed drill display will be held at Lancaster Ptrk on Friday. A garden party will- Be held in the grounds of Mr G. T. Mulcock's residence, Lincoln road, on Saturday afternoon, in aid of the Church of St. "Mary's (Halawoll) and St. Martin's (Rprevdon). A jumble side will ho held in St. Saviour's Hall, Queen etreet, Sydenham, on Thursday evening.
