At the wool sales tliere was renewed keenness in competition for all good sorts, particularly on the part, of Japan, The recent decline of 5 to 7| per cent, was recovered. Crossbreds were in strong demand at the best rates of the season. Greasy merino sold! up to 31Jd. A man named A. Wells was knocked down by a motor-car at the corner of Bealey avenue and Victoria street last evening. He was admitted to the Hospital suffering from concussion and bruises.
