A paragraph recently appeared stating that the Mayor of Wellington (Mr R. A. Wright), had signed some 4000 debentures for the renewal of loans. TTiis record has, however, been exceeded by the Mayor of Dunedin (Mr J. S. Douglns), who some little time ago signed close on €OOO debentures, of a total value, of £826,300.
