Stone end Bulk Hands—City bulk hands and machine correctors, day work £4 16s 3d, night, work £5 6s 3d; second stone hands, night work.£s lis.3d, day work £5 Is 3d; any bulk hand employed casually must be paid not less than 2s 6d per hour for day work and 3s per hour for night work. These workers also receive the cost of living bonus of lid per hour. Probationers employed on linotype or other composing maohines, £4 6s for day work and' £4 15a for night work;- by the hour, for day. work 2s 6d, and night woijk 2s 9d.. A linotype operator is 'not deemed efficient Unless he has attained the output, stated by the Conrt in a, separate clause. The minimum rates for linotype, iniertypo, and Urn* graph operators gi 0 T a is o defined by the Court. ' The week's work is stated at 43 hours, andj in oases where a weekly half-holiday is not' giyen, the' hours must not exceed 48. Additional pay ia 'allowed for Saturday night special editions. Double rates axe allowed for Sundays and certain holidays. Time and a half is allowed for other holidays, A week's holidiay per year in addition to the '. specified /holidays on the completion of each year of service is inoluded. In 'a memorandum attached to the award for' letterpress, machinista for the Northern Taronaki, Wel)ington, Westland, Canterbury, and Otago industrial districts, the Indigo stated that a, number of clauses were agreed on at £ conference of the parties. Wages and holidays were the principal matters left for the Court to deoide. Members of the Court adopted the award as a' whole, aMJiough they were not unanimous in ' respect of every clause.
