William Hawkins, a patient at the Public Mwpiial, Buffeting irom insomnia and depression, kit bis oed at an early hour tin morning and swa lowed some disinfectant from a bottle he procured in a room near the bathroom, death following- a couple of Hours later. At the inquest a verdict of suicide was returned. „ „ . ,„ DUNEDIN, .November 13. Mrs Edith Bunce, of Dunedin, and Miss Daiev "Wilson, of Evansdale, were walking on tho railway bridge near Evansdale this morning when they saw an engine approaching. They either jumped or fell through the bridge to the ground below, a distance of over 20 feet. Both wore suffering from bruises and sho-k aid were conveyed to the Dunedin Hospital. Mis? Wilson died at 6.50 this evening and Mrs Bunco's condition is critical.
