CHARGES AGAINST MOERAKI'S CREW.
WARRANTS FOE ARREST ISSUED. (Received November 13th, 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 13. Warrants have been issued for the arrest of twenty-four membors of the Moerairi's crew on a charge of refusing dluty. Both- the Waikawa and the Moeraki are still lying in the stream. The Union Company is refunding the fares of the -Moeraki s passengers. It is feared that trouble is likelv when the Makura arrives to-morrow. Attempts have been made to secure a. crew to replace the present one, which is on Australian articles. T , . ~ , Later. PALOONA'S TRIP CANCELLED. CBEW SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT. (Reoeinfcd November 13th, 8 p.m.) MELBOURNE, November 13. The Paloona trouble has not been settled. The Union Company proposed to put another fireman in tho place of the one who demanded Australian rates of pay, but the crew declined to sail unless the dissatisfied fireman was signed on and his demands granted. After the men's refusal of the order to get the steamer away, the police arrested 27 sailors and firemen. About 120 passengers are affected. (Received November 13th. 9.45 p.m.) 'MELBOURNE, November 13. Twenty-five members of the crew of tli« Paloona were sentenced to fourteen days' hard labour on a charge-of combining to impede the progress of the ship. The crew, pleaded not guilty. The passengers booked by the Paloona have been notified' that the trip to New Zealand has been cancelled. Tho mails for New Zealand have been removed from the ship.
