She will leave Lyttelton for Wellington this morning on the arrival of the 10.20 train. The Press Association advises that the BJararoa will continue in the ferry service. Several crews were signed off at various ports yesterday. The Government has decided to suspend the Shipping and Seamen Act, and to-day advertisements will appear in the newspapers asking for free labour to man the ships. The suspension of the Act will enable the owners to ship scratch crews. The crew of the Maunganul, which is on her way from Sydney to San Francisco, via Wellington, gave notice at sea yesterday that they would leave the ship. It is said that the strike is becoming less popular with the seamen in Lyttelton and other ports as time goes on. The stewards of the Wahiue, who were paid off yesterday, were particularly outspoken in their condemnation of the action of the seamen.
