NEW BRIGHTON SHELTERS.
CITY'COUNCIL WILL ASSIST. The City' Council are billing to as-s sist'financially in providing a tramway shelter and conveniences at New Brighton. At '&■ recent meeting, the Mayor of New Brighton, Mr J. Gamble, waited on the Council as a. deputation with a proposition which the lo,cal Council intended to adopt if the City Council and the Tramway Board would help. Thfl representations were" feferred ( to the Tinance Committee, which reported to the Council last night that; they had considered the request from the New Brighton Borough Council to -contribute towards the co9t of erecting conveniences and a tramway shelter for tramway passengers at New Brighton* and they/; recommended that the .New Brighton Borough Council bet informed that provided the TramWay .Board agreed to db the, same, the Council would 'undertake to ,pay interest and sinking one-third of the costj prbvided' the total cost did not exceed £lßoo.*. > - « . „The. Council adopted the report.
