LITTLE'S DIPS.

There is an attractive exhibit of Little's Dips, shown by Messrs Black- 1 burno, Smith and Co.. Ltd., the chief New Zealand agents for these celebrated Dips. Little's Fluid and Powder Sheep Djps, which have been ou the market over SO and 30 years respectively, are so well known that it is superfluous to say much about them. Suffice it to say tTiat at the New' Zealand Auction Wool Sales, record prices for New Zealand for wool sold thereat were got by users of Little's Sheep Dips for an unbroken period of eleven veai's. In recent years, the makers of these dips have introduced three new articles, which hare also come rapidly into favour. One of these is known as Tripol. Dip. This is a soluble condensed Powder Dip, less than half the weight and bulk of ordinary Powder Dips; and in these days of costly freight and storage, this saving in weight and bulk is an important consideration, and the j solubility of the Dip makes it much | easier to work. Another comparative- j ly new article is Little's Bloom Dip. This Dip underwent exhaustive tests at the hands of Mr E. E. Short, the very well known breeder, of Feilding, and Sir Short .says:—"l am highly delighted with it. In every case it lias made the wool nice and soft." To meet the pest of the Cattle Tiok, which has now got a considerable hold in some parts of the North Island, the makers of Little's Dips have also introduced Little's Cattle Tick Dip, which is used by the Queensland Government, and also adopted officially by-tho Government of the Argentine Republic, where it has proved the greatest success. DISINFECTANT. I Little's also manufacture a high-clasu Disinfectant, twenty times more efficient than Carbolic Acid. This is called Hvnhenoid. Little's Fluid Dip is also largely used for disinfecting purposes. WEED KILLER AND ORCHARD SPRAY. Also manufactured by Little's, these axe on the same plane of excellence as the Dip and Disinfectant. LIME FOR THE LAND. Blackburne, Smith and Co., Ltd., are chief agents in Canterbury for the Mount Somers Lime and Stone Co., Ltd. Lime is being used more every year, as all the experts agree that it is necessary to keep the soil in good condition. S3 much is this the case that the Railway carries it free for 100 miles under certain conditions. MILBURN CEMENT. Blackburne, Smith and Co.. Ltd., are also Chief Canterbury Agents for Milburn Cement, which is extensively used by the Government, Local Bodies, and Contractors throughout New Zealand. A DISINFECTANT EXHIBITION. MESSES. A. C. NOTTINGHAM AND SON, LTD. Messrs A. C. Nottingham and Son, Ltd., display in a special marquee a most interesting and wonderful exhibition of the famous Jeyes Disinfectants. Jeyes in powders and fluids, in tins, cans, and carbons are to be seen. _ Of course, the great Jeyes Fluid —which no home should be without for a single day—is the chief, and in these days of ultra-sanitation it is becoming moro_ and more in favour every day. Medical opinions and scientific investigations give the good 'old "Jeyes Fluid" the pride of place. Here doglovers can see the famous "Jeyes Dog Soap," which no dog-owner should be without. Gardeners here can see the' neat cans of horticultural specialities, including the summer wash for greeu fly, and orchardists can note the preparations for winter spraying that this exhibit shows. Sanitary powders for fowl-houses should appeal to the poultryman, and suit him right to the ground. But not alone in disinfectants do Nottingham and Son, Ltd., specialise. A special line of theirs is Ceylon tea—real Ceylon Flowery Orange Pekoe Tea —'the famous "Kalana," a name to conjure with. This tea shows out alone by reason of its special purity and delicate taste. Housewives should make a point of testing this tea—a 51b package is broken so that people can Bee it and find out for themselves whether the neat package is not a true index of tho fragrant contents inside. The growing demand tends to show that it is. The 4-tons "Sentinel" Steam Wag£on, exhibited by Messrs Andersons, imited, will attract a very large number of interested spectators to their stand. The features _of .this waggon are the exceptionally low running costs, great handiness, speed, and absolutely silent running. Since the waggon landed early last month, it has run some 900 miles, including a trip to Duvauchelle Bay and back, when 4i tons of timber were carried over the steep Peninsula grades at a high average speed. Two typical runs are set out below:—Bun, Christchurch-Duvau-chelle, and return; distance (including loading, etc.), 115 mites; load, out 4J tons (timber), in 3 tons (wool); total fuel consumed, 10 cwt gas coke; average mileage per cwt coke (banking down and lighting up included), 11.5. Run Christchurch-Belfast-Snowdon, and'return—Distance, 125 miles; load, out 5 tons (manure), in nil; total fuel consumed, 8} cwt gas coke; average mileage per cwt coke (including lighting up and banking down) , 14.2. Messrs Anderson anticipate a big market for the "Sentinel" in New Zealand, anl ; are landing a six-ton waggon next month.
