THEATRE ROYAL.
♦ "THE BAT." The thrilling mystery play "The Bat" has made good' in Christehurch, and last night another huge audience was present, to see the production in the Theatre Royal. Playgoers are unanimously of the opinion that the play is easily the best of its kind seen in Christchurch for yews. The object of mystery is deepened by the fact that much of the action takes place in eemi-darkness. The various parts are taken in an eminently successful manner by Mayne Lynton, Rupert Lumley, Elizabeth Dunne, Emm* Temple, Sidney Stirling, Isabel Wilford, Carlton Stuart, Frank Hawthorne, Robert MoKinuon, Gerald Harcourt, a>nd other members of the company. 'The Bat" will be produced every night this week.
