——4 1 LEESTON. The Rev. A. 0. Harrio presided over the larterly meeting of cifke-bearerß of tho aeaton Methodist Cirouit, and there was a prcaentative attendance. It was reported lat tho membership returns were:—Adults 8, juniors 6. In the absence of the circuit -ewards the quarterly statement of accounts as read by Mr G. Slieat. It showed a debit alanco, which bad been accumulating for >me time. Arrangements were made to wipe I,tho debt, aiid it was agreed that the alioitions should be -increased to meet tho cienuiture in. future. Sunday school- reports ■ere satisfactory. It was reported that 10 Rev. A: N. Sootter, 8.A., and Mr Shepard Green would visit the circuit during bo current quarter- as Foreign Mission, mentation. It was decided to carry on with ut a grant from the Home Mission Fund, lessrs H. W. Johnson and R. Barnett were p win ted lay representatives to the District lynod. A hearty and unanimous invitation rua extended to the Rev. A. O. Harris enmin as superintendent of the circuit for nother year, and Mr Harris intimated that ,e would accept the invitation. Resolutions if sympathy were carried with tho relatives 1 ' if the late Mrs, I. W. Mawson,_Mrs G. M. 'ones, Mr V<. J. Stephens, Mr D. Wills, It G. Heslop, and Mrs H. O. Hanby. _ Symlatliy was also expressed with Messrs I. W. tlawson andi j.' Olive;.', who had been ill for ,ome time. KAIAPOI. The Rev. W. B. Scott presided over the quar■grly meeting of tho Kaiapoi Methodist Cir:uit. The balance-aheet showed ft slight j Jefieit. The Sunday Bchcols, at Kaiapci and Sarkville were reported as being in. a healthy state. Collections were granted in connexion with the anniversaries of both schools.; Messrs W. K. Bate and C. C. Hoikin were, elected representatives to the Synoci in November. On the motion of. the circuit stewards a unanimous invitation, was given to the Bev. W. B. Scott to remain in the circuit for a fourth .year. Appreciative remarks as to the work of Mr and Mrs Scott, were made by members of the meeting, andi the invitation was unanimously endorsed. Mr Scott thanked the meeting, and accepted the invitation, aubject to tho decision of Conference. The organisers and workers in connexion will the recent were thanked for their services. It was decided, heartily to recommend Mr C. C. HoaTcin.to the Home,. Mission executive for employment, with & view to his becoming a candidate for the ministry. Messrs A. Blaiceley and J. Howarth were appointed auditors.
