OPERATIC SONG RECITAL.
Chrisichurch music lovers, ever ready to acclaim local artists of promise, will experience some-tiiing of a surprise on Saturday night next, when Missea Gladys Cross and Lillian Hanhiun, both of Kiecarton, will be heard in a programme of grand opera music at the Jellicoe Hall. It must be many years since any two Cbristchnrch singers have set themselves so oixibitioua a task. These tv,-o young performers have won golden opinions and rich honours in successive competitions. Critics have spoken most highly of Miss Gladys Cross, her voice, and her artistic, temperament. Dramatic passages show her powers at their best.
