The Labour Board has declared the ( striking railway workshop workers out-; lawed, and that they cannot return to their Mr Samuel Gompers, President of the American Federation of Labour, protesting against this action, calk it Bolshevism, ajnd an attempt to dissolve the unions. He asks whether the Board can dissolve them. ' . Tho railroad executive organisation boasted to-day that it will meet the Maintenance Way Workers' "Union, 400,000 of whom have voted for a 6trike, and will attempt an adjustment of the wages and overtime issues. Reports throughout the country indicate that a greater number of shop workers are on strike, and that train schedules are affected. COAL MINERS' DISPUTE. GO VEB2WENT INTEBVENWOIT . PBOBABLE. {Received July 4th, 10.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 3. The conference between the coalminers and the owners adjourned for a week without reaching any decision. It is considered probable that arbitration bv a Government Commission will be enforced if the conference is fruitless. TA previous message said President Harding held a conference with the representatives of the coal strikers, and tho mine operators. He urged tiie strikers and operators to resume mining immediately and adjust their differences at joint secret conferences. The president warned tho parties that, unless the strike waa soon terminated, tbo Federal Government would use its entire power to force an ending.
