TUBERCULAR PATIENTS. (sracxu. to "the ratss.") GREYMOTJTH, June 22. At to-day's meeting of the ; Grey River Hospital Board, a letter was considered from Dr. Blackmore stating that no accommodation was available at Cashmere for Grey patients. The Board passed a resolution urging the Government to take orver the duty of supplying accommodation for tuberculosis sufferers, as the difficulty was too great for individual Hospital Boards. Shortage of Shipping. The Stf:te mine was idle to-day, but work m:.y be resumed to-morrow. The stoppage was due to the shortage of shipping. Golf Record, Splendid form is being shown bv A. Sime, the New Zealand amateur golf champion. At the Omoto links yesterday he went round in 74, a record for the course. In addition to this fine score the champion put up a remarkable performance at No. 2 hole known as "The Willows," where he holed out in two. This is the first time such a feat has been performed at the Omoto links. The approximate distance is 310 yards. Sime covered about 200 yards with his first and'holed out with his second, a distance of about 110 yards. Trades Association. A meeting of business people was held last evenine in response to a requisition signed by 33 tradesmen, who desired to form a combined Trades' Association. After discussion it was unanimously decided to form an Association, and 33 members were elected. Mr" A. Nnvlor was appointed secretary. Mr P. Beck was elected president, and Mr F. C. Wade vice-president. It was decided that the executive as nearly as possible should comprise one each from the trades represented, and the following members were elected: Messrs \ E. Kilgour (stationers'). Scott (ironmongers), Henden (iewellers), Parkinson (chemists), Fletcher .(tobacconists), McDonnell (grocers), and McGlashnn (wholesalers). With the near completion of the Otira tunnel, a verv lanre crowd is expected at Christmas for the race week, and it was resolved to bring before the Chamber of Commerce and Licensed Victuallers' Association the necessity for catering for the exoected ivisitors. It was decided that with the exertion of all relyrioiis obiects all subscription lists should be referred to the secretary of the Association. All special holidays are to be fixed bv the executive, and their decision will be final.
