ELECTRICAL SUPPLY.
LAEGE SCALE HEATINCK •It was reported to the City Council sby .the Electricity Committee last night that eeveral applications had been received by the Electricity Department for heating on a large scale in publio buildings. The general manager pointed out that while the Department was prepared to supply residential and-office heating, it was desirable to indicate that it was not the Department's nolicy, at the present time, to advocate electrical heating, on a large scale. The prospects here were in line with experience elsewhere in indicating that electrical heating for large buildings could • not be recommended 'rom the point of View of the consumer, and was not attractive business from the supply authority's point of view. Maximum Load. The Committee also reported that as the result of the removal of restrictions, coupled with the more wintry conditions, the City Council load liad reached the • maximum figure yet recorded, viz., 3979 k.w. at 4.30 p.m. on Monday, 15th inst.
