TEACHERS COMBINE.
NEW ASSOCIATION TOEMED. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May 19. At the Secondary School Teachers' Association's Conference, the report of delegates to a combined conference of primary, secondary, and technical school teachers, and university professors was considered. 'lho Conference unanimously approved tho proposal to establish a combined Ijody to be called the Educational Association of INew Zealand, in order to promote effective co-operation between tho different bianus of education. Each society concerned is to appoint five representatives on tho executivo council of the Association, one at least of whom must bo resident in Wellington, such resident members, together with the officcis or the Association, to form a standing committee to deal with matters of urgency. The following representatives were elected by the Conference:—Miss Gibson, and Messrs Grcs'swelij J\cnner # ritrachan, and Milner. It was resolved that a recess committee be set up to make recommendations tor a revised syllabus of mathematics, historv, and civics, physical science, and geography, for intermediate examinations.
