CANTERBURY PROGRESS LEAGUE.
ANNUAL MEETING OP WESTLAND BRANCH.

GREYMOUTH, May 10. At the annual meeting of the Westland branch of the Canterbury Progress League there was a , good attendance. Mr W. Jeffries presided. The report dealing with the work of the League during the year was approved, also the balance-sheet, which showed that the deficit of £BO last year had been reduced to £2O. Ihe report stated that great assistance hail been received from the Council in. Canterbury, which had assisted the Westland branch *by foregoing the levy. The League had given attention to the bridging of the southern rivers, the Bruce Bay landing, the Ross rail- • wav service, and the southern mail servioe, in all of which it was instrumental in effecting changes and expediting construction. ' In moving the adoption of the report, Mr Jeffries again suggested that an industrial exhibition be held Hokitika in 1924—the year of the golden jubilee of the West Coast. Mi D. J. Evans was elected presiF. J- Board was re-elected ths Christchurch representative of the Westland branch.
