PIGEON SHOOTING.
CLAY KERB CHAMPIONSHIP.
The Christchurch Gun Club held a match on its grounds on Saturday afternoon to decide the olub clay pigeon championship for the 1922 season. There were 28 competitors and a. large number of spectators. The weather I was stormy, but the shooting was interesting throughout. Conditions were: —l 7 birds oft I 16yds, unknown angles, no star, the winner to receive the Officers' Challenge. Cup, 60 per cent, of sweepstake, '-aid a diamond 1 jnedal given, by Mr W. E. Heney, together I with the championship 'title. Mr L. A. Shand officiated as referee, with Mr Gr. N. Ormondy at the scoreboard. At the end of the l?th round W. Donald, D. F. Dennehy, and L. Moffatt had scored possibles, and they divided the prize monoy of £l2, and shot off for the trophies, Moffatt winning on the 23rd round. Dr. W. H. Simpson, the club president, presented the prizes, and complimented the winner and runner-up on their brilliant ehooting, which, he said, was worth going a long way to see.
