CASUALTIES.
A returned soldier named Wilfred Moore, who was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital to undergo an operation for an'internal complaint, collapsed under the ana?6thetic and died when the operation was practicaly completed. Deceased, a single man, aged 24, had been m delicate health since his return from the front. He lived with his father, James Robert Moore, dairy farmer of St. Albans. An inquest was held on Saturday evening before Mi- H. Y. Widdowson, District Coroner. The evidencc of Dr. King and that of deceased's father was taken and the inquest was then adjourned till 3 p.m. on Wednesday to enable Dr. Guthrie, who assisted in the operation to attend, and iallow time for a post-mortem examination by Dr. A. B. Pearson. (fhkss association TKLZGIUM.) ' WAIMATE, April 22. A young man named Harry Kaan, driver of a baker's delivery van, was injured by an explosion of petrol when he struck a match. Kaan drove three miles to town, and was admitted to the j hospital in a, state of collapse. I
