BAPTIST YOUNG WOMEN'S CAMP.

The annual Easter camp of the South ] Island Baptist Bible Class Union, held thia year at Ashbuiton, in tho High School buildings, was attended by over 100 girls, representing classes as far south as Invercargill and as far north as Oxford. The welcome meeting, held on Good Friday morning, was addressed by Pastor Matthews, of Ashburton, and at the annual business meeting, held at the camp, reports were received from nineteen classes. A sacred concert, open to tho public, was given on .Friday evening, Mx R. Galbraith, Mayor of Ashbuiton, and Rev. G. Miliar, president of the Ministers' Association, occupying seats on the platform, and each giving a message of welcome to the visitors from those they represented. The fancy dress mock banquet, on Saturday evening, was followed by a tocial, when the competition for the impromptu speech cujjs was held. Miss D. Buchanan, of Sydenham, was the winner of the Canterbury Cup, and Miss G. Driver, of Hanover street chues, Dunedin, secured the Otago trophy. All campers attended the Baptist Church on Easter Sunday, and took part in both the services. The speaker in tho evening wa3 Mrs Guy Thornton of the South Dunedin Baptist Church. A special missionary meeting was addiessed by Miss Cowles, a missionary homo on furlough, and Miss Gaiiuford, late missionary at Brahmanbaiia, and the presence of both these ladies at the camps was -very specially welcomed. Easter Monday was snorts day, and a large number of Ashbuiton friends and others visited the school to witness the athletic events. Tho Ejjorts cup was won by the Hanover street cia3S, and the highest number of points was secured by Miss G. Bunn, of Oxford. Tho camp was a great success in every way, and special thanka are due to Mrs Smith, cam? mother, Miss M. Nicol, camp secretary, Mr C. G. Matthews, of the ABhburton Baptist Church, and Mrs Olds, of Ashburton, who superintended the cooking arrangements.
