An incident not on tho programme occurred at Fullers* Vaudeville Theatre, Wellington, on Thursday night, and fortunately it was not attended with very serious consequences. Tho fifth item was an acrobatic turn by the Darwinians, experts, on tho trapeze and revolving ladder. The male performer is attired as an ape and the lady in tights. Tho man had just finished his first turn with rapid revolutions of the ladder, which he then held while the lady performer. mounted to the top, where, putting one foot through a looped cord, she stood out horizontally from the side. She was about to extend her hands in responso to tho plaudits' of tho audience, when her foot slipped out of the noose, and she fell across the trapeze, and then with a thud to the floor, the height of the fall being 12ft to 15ft. Her partner at onco went to her aid, and, while the audience were wondering if this was part of the performance, the curtain was run down and lights dimmed. The orchestra continued playing, and with practically no delay a trick violinist was: on the stage, his clever work distracting the of the audience from the unrehearsed incident. Later a "Times'' reporter enquired, if the consequences of the fall were serious. He was informed that the young lady had escaped with bruises and Borne amount of shock.
