CANTERBURY FIRE BRIGADES' DEMONSTRATION.
SHOW GKOUNDS TO-DAY. Of to-daVs fixtures there is none more Important nor any that promises to be so well patronised aa the Canterbury Fire Brigades Demonstration on the Show Grounds, Aldington. Keen contests in all the events are assured, as the teams, which are representative of practically all the Fire Brigades «. Canterbury, have been in hard training f°* months past, and all are as "keen as mustard" to secure the supremacy. The first event, the Gilberd Memorial, is to start a> S ajn.. but the spectacular events are to do decided in the afternoon. Admission to the Show Grounds will be free, but a^j 1 6dwill be made for entrance to the grana stand. Opportunities will be giyen t o> all desiring to Uo voluntary contributions to the Demonstration Committee's funds. Lun cheon and afternoon tea will be obtainable on the grouMs.
