He ■ had served 16 years on the Board, and did : not intend to seek Te-elcction. He paid a i tribute to the clerk, Mr G. H. O'Callaghan, whose work deserved the highest commenda- • Members joined in. expressing the wannest ! appreciation of Mr Armstrong's splendid ! services to the district, and keenly, regretted that advancing years compelled him to re- : tire from a position he had filled with satisfaction to all.
