RIFLE SHOOTING.
HOMB AND HOUSE MATCH. I» the Home and Home Kifle Match fired between teams representing the Rifle Clubs in the twelve military districts in the Dominion, seven districts entered teams. The conditions wero 7 shots at. 800, 600, and 600 yards. In 1920 Auckland won the match with o score o! IH7, and in 1921 Canterbury won with a score of 1138. This year Canterbury again secured first place with 'a score of 113S, an average per man of slighfly over 94J. The best individual score was put up by Rifleman L. C. Pimm (Christchurch Club), who sooiad 103 for Canterbury. The next > best score was President P. Palmer, of the Hawera Club, 101. Centuiies were made by P. Richards (Kaiapoi), R. Piper (Christchurch), F. James (Napier), and H. R. Hunt (Suburbs, Wellington). Following were the scores of the oompeting teams:— . The Christchurch Defence Rifle Club wound up the season with a field day on Friday. In spite of the boisterous wind, some fair scores were registered in the first, match, but in the next the nor'-wester ai»er,ted its power over the judgment and skill of the competitors, and misses were nearly as numerous as fcmls-eyos. The prizes tor the day and the season's Bhooting were given out to the successful men at the end of tho meeting. Keaultß: — Season's Competitions—The winners were G. Avails., H. .Mcelroy, J. A. Pimm, 61. Aggregate for the Day—F. A. Judkins. Aggregate Winners—Short range, 6. Evans. Long range: P. H. Powell. Handicap men: J. A. Lummis. . Club Champion—R. Piper. In addition to a monetary prize. receives a gold medal,. and : holds the club shield for a year. President J. A. Lummis holds the Canterterbury College Students* Cup for twelve months, he having the best aggregate amongst the handicap men. KAIAPOI CLUB. The Kaiapoi Defence Rifle Oluh held its annual field day on Friday. The weather conditions were favourable, and some excellent shooting was witnessed. In the first competition, conditions were: 6 shots grouping, 100 yds } 7 shots application, 200 yds; 7 shots figure 3, 200 yds. The following were the scores:—
