The Canterbury, Otago, and Victoria, University tcama arrived in Auckland to-d«y after a, very tiring journey. The Canterbury and Otago teams did not, have .ft very pleasant ferry journey, and the tennis players will probably !><> slightly below par in tomorrow's matches. In Wellington tho teams were taken for an enjoyable motor drive round the bays. Tennis Competition. On the jouraey north members of the; different teams vera very busy companngfpotea on tournament prospects. The big surprise was tha absence of A. W. Sims from the Otago tennis team. This leaves the tennis courts events very open, and it is impossible to forecast "with any degree of certainty tne result of any of the events.
