WOODBURY WAR MEMORIAL.
UNVEIIING CEBEMONY. In memory of. the men of the Woodbury .district who fell in the Great War, a fine cross has been erected on the corner of the school grounds at the four roads crossing at Woodbury, and on Wednesday afternoon a large number of people gathered to ta]j£ part in the nnveiling ceremony. The Geraldine band was in attendance and led the singing. Prayer was offered by the Rev. George King, after which addresses were given by Mr Flatman, chairman of the Memorial Committee, and Mr T. D. Burnett, M.P. The hymn, "O God Our Help," was then sung and the Rev. G. King gave an admirable address, after which the ceremony of unveiling the memorial was performed by Mrs J. M. Barker. The Rev. H, Purchas delivered an address and offered a prayer of dedication which wae followed by an interval of silence. After the singing of the hymn "For all the Saints" the "Last Post' was sounded. Wreaths were placed around the base of the memorial which bearo the following inscription:—"ln grateful memory of those who gave their lives for King and country in the Great War, 1914-1918. These passed cut of sight of men by the paths of duty and self sacrifice, giving up their own lives that others might live in freedom." Trooper L. H. Barhop, Captain P. 8. Barker, M.C., Lieutenant C.
